Intelligent Power Lines
Power lines are the arteries of the power grid; deliver electricity from point of generation to end users such as homes, businesses, and industries. When there is a problem or fault on these lines that leads to an outage, power companies do not know what exactly is causing the outage. There’s over 10 million km’s of distribution lines in Canada alone with no effective way to monitor them.
Trispectra Innovation is a Canadian startup developing a unique and innovative solution to monitor these power lines in a manner that is cost-effective, efficient, and reliable.
Trispectra Grid Systems (TGS) is an integrated communications platform that uses sensors to detect faults on power lines. Using innovative hardware, network architecture and software modeling, TGS can instantly detect, locate and identify fault events, thereby, enabling power companies to optimize their response to an outage incident and speed up power restoration.
